All foreign nationals except citizens of ECOWAS countries, Angola, and South Africa must obtain a visa to enter Cape Verde.
ECOWAS is the Economic Community of West African States & encompasses the republics of: BENIN, BURKINA FASO, CABO VERDE, COTE D’IVOIRE, GAMBIA, GHANA, GUINEE, GUINEE BISSAU, LIBERIA, MALI, NIGER, NIGERIA, SENEGAL, SIERRA LEONE, TOGO

The entry requirements into Cape Verde for UK nationals, Irish nationals, Americans, New Zealanders, Australians & Canadians are:

A passport with at least six months left before expiry, valid for the duration of the stay and a visa, which can be organised in advance through a visa agency or your consulate/embassy.

Note: Visas can normally be arranged on arrival, but it is well advised to arrange your visa in advance to avoid any delays at the airport.
Travellers continuing to a third destination outside of Cape Verde DO NOT require a visa as long as they have proof of onward passage and do not leave the airport.
